Fountain, Sigma Delta Mu’s second national president, was born in
Buenos Aires and earned the B.A. and M.A. degrees at Indiana University,
and the Ph.D. in Spanish and the Area Certificate in Latin American
Studies at Columbia University. She did additional study at the
University of the Americas (Mexico), the Inter-American University
(Puerto Rico), and the University of Geneva (Switzerland). She was Professor of Spanish and Latin American Studies at Peace
College. Currently, she is Professor of Spanish at San José State
University.
Anne has written José Marti and U.S. Writers (2003) and is the translator of Versos Sencillos: A Dual-language edition by José Martí (2005).
